I’m Committed But Still Unsure

She said yes. But something doesn’t feel settled.

Maybe the coach who recruited her left the school. Maybe the program shifted priorities. Maybe your athlete returned from another visit and it didn’t feel like the fit you expected or experienced before. Or maybe she committed early in the recruiting window and things have changed for her. Maybe questions are surfacing around academic goals, playing time, location, or culture.

A verbal commitment isn’t a contract. You have more options than you think.

What most families don’t know at this stage: the recruiting process doesn’t end at commitment, for the coaches or the athletes. Programs evolve with every new season. Coaches turn over. Rosters shift. And most importantly, players grow too, with each practice, in every new class, and in their personal lives. A commitment that made sense twelve, six, or even one month ago may look different today, based on new information. And you deserve an honest read on where things actually stand.

This isn’t about panic or backing out. It’s about making sure the decision your athlete made is still the right one, and knowing what to do if it isn’t.

Why Mind the Match is different.

We assess your athlete across three dimensions: academic, athletic, and recruiting readiness, and match her to programs that fit who she is today. Then, we present options to consider given her current commitment and what else may be on the horizon. It starts with an Intake assessment, a personalized Recruiting Compass, delivered by our founder, in a live Strategy Session. Click here for more information about all our Services.

There is a future field for your athlete. Let’s make sure she found it.
